Tired of lookin for bugs

Tired of lookin for bugs so I thought I'd turn around. The moon in southern California at 1600 hrs (4:00pm). Sigma 150-500 telephoto with APO 1.4 teleconverter.

Met a gentleman from Clovis CA. who takes macro photos in this direction. Check the photos out at Sierra-Remote.com

Do you think I could get closer with an extension tube? :-)

With tubes you buy closer focusing at the cost of distant focusing. Please correct me if I am wrong.

As a rule,that is correct. Tubes allow you to focus closer at the expense of losing infinity focus. That said though, I have noticed that with longer focal length enlarger lenses mounted on my bellows, that I don't lose infinity whereas shorter focal length lens I do...
