I purchased Lightroom 4 awhile back and would like recommendation for download tutorials. I'm considering Laura Shoe Digital Workshop or Hal Schmitt (Elephorm) .

Lynda.com is an excellent source of instruction. You can use their training for $25 a month. The added benefit is that you can watch anything they offer during that one month period. You're only limited by the amount of time you want to spend perusing their system.

Of course, for free, YouTube has hundred of videos, but you have to decide for yourself if they're good.

If you have an iPhone or iPad, look for the free app Lr QuickStart. Be aware that the download is about 350 MB, though.

Maybe the app is available for Android, but I don't have any Android or PC gear, so I don't know.

If you are starting from scratch with LR, I would recommend the Lightroom Classroom in a Book series.

http://www.amazon.com/Adobe-Photoshop-Lightroom-Classroom-Book/dp/0321819578/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1361369296&sr=1-1&keywords=lightroom+classroom+in+a+book

It will get you up and running faster than anything else. I'll forewarn you, though. You'll need to be giving significant thought to your proposed workflow. You'll find setting up LR to support your workflow is an important step.

You'll love it!! Good luck.

It costs about $50 but once you get it it's yours for life. I found it very helpful.

I prefer books like Kelby. I generally have to go back a and review the steps to an action several times and find it easier to reviewwith a step by step book than a video. But.....that's just me. Be sure to upgrade the LR 4 to 4.3 and have fun with it!!

Ditto I find videos you have to write things down, I do forget while with books it is there in front of you. I like Nat Coalson's Lightroom 4 Book

I bought the Steele Training video on Lightroom over a year ago. He's since updated it for LR4. I refer to it often, and will again as I just upgraded to v4. He doesn't cover every single option or menu choice, but he does explain the basics of importing, developing, etc. Well worth the money, IMHO.

Been using Lynda.com for sometime now I find it an overall excellent site for training everything from my hobby, photography to software that I use on my job. Best of all it's company sponsored.
