I just got my copy of Grit magazine for March/April with one of my photographs on pg 43.

Super! Congrats on being published. That is a very interesting photo. Ive never seen a hay wagon like that, with a beaver slide on it.

Thank you. What is a Beaver slide. I don't believe I have ever heard that term used with a hay wagon before.

Did they not send you a notification that you were going to be published before you opened the mag?

It is a kind of ramp used to move loose hay onto a stack. I found a description of it in this link. It's the second definition.

That looks similar to the hay loader. The hay loader is ground driven and the "fingers" or tines carry the hay up to the top and dump it on the wagon to be stacked. It is then taken to the barn where either a "harpoon" or some other divice was used to lift the hay from the wagon into the barn. I will see if I can find a better picture of the loader.
