I added on my RX-100 a Screen Glass Protector.
This afternoon, I went photographed outside in-6C and returning home, I noticed that my protective screen was broken.
Have you an idea, a means to remove this protective screen?
It seems that it is not easy without damaging the screen of the camera.

There is a you tube video somewhere that explains how to do it. I did it once but I can't remember what I did. I didn't know about the video but I remember I went VVEERRYY slowly and applied to pressure to the protector until it was off the camera body.

The instructions with mine said to use very thin sheet of plastic, like the dummy credit cards we all recieve in the mail with applications, and slide the sheet under the protector, and then around the outer edges until it is freed. I replaced one that way and it went off without a hitch.

For future reference these are exceedingly good, expensive but you get what you pay for.

Also note unlike cheaper versions

Specially treated to maximise hardness and durability to resist scratching. This protector also features an explosion-proof film that ensure maximum resistance to impact damage ( up to 12kg/cm2), preventing damage to the rear LCD.

I see that the write ups for the screen protector you got are ALL good, no faults, I think you should return it NOT to the shop but the manufacturer.

It may have been faulty and could have cost you money

I also use the GGS and highly recommend them.

Beware the Giottos glass screen protector - I fitted one to my wife's Nikon D3100. She inadvertantly bumped the screen on the corner of a metal table at a side walk cafe. She didn't notice that the screen had shattered until she raised the camera to her eye to take a shot and got stuck in the face by shards of paper-thin glass. I will never use a glass screen protector again.

Thank you, Pepper and GrahamS for your comments which are always appreciated on this forum.
I am sure that GGS is a higher quality that the one I had.

I've never used a glass screen protector, just the film types that you might use on a phone. I don't expect them to protect against major impacts, but they do a pretty good job of keeping the original screen clean and scratch free. The big plus is that they're cheap and easily replaced. I rarely use the rear screen for anything other than to verify the shot just taken. FWIW.

Giotto is very high quality glass. It protects the LCD screen and importantly, the image quality provided by the LCD screen.
