Given the high prices of used Nikon and Canon 35mm slide scanners I am considering using my old analog slide duplicating gear and my DSLR to convert my old ektrachromes. The equipment consists of bellows, slide holder, 50mm macro manual lens and a Multiblitz Diaduplikator flash box. Does anyone have experience with slide digitization using a flash? Any specific advice, especially re exposure? 8-)

Use a lens brush and/or blower to remove any dust particles from the neg/slide. Some dust particles can fluoresce under the energy from the flash. (like the old luminous dial on wrist watches)
