Have decided on the Nikon D7000. The package I am looking at includes Nikon 18 - 200 zoom 3.5 - 5.6G ED DX VR II.
Best price I can find from a ruputable seller is $1,496.95.
Does anyone know of a quality dealer than can beat this price?
All replies are welcome.
Thanks,
Don

This is Nikon's current Protected price. Anyone selling for less is in violation of their Nikon Agreement. This price should be available from any Authorized Nikon Dealer, Hunt's Photo, Adorama, B&H etc.
If you are a Costco member, I believe they have that combo package on sale this month.

As an authorized Nikon Reseller Costco does have that package for $ 1,499.99 as do all Nikon Resellers.

Even if you aren't they will add $20, or so, and mail it to you.

Maybe I'm wrong in my thinking, but if the cost is identical no matter where in the USA you buy it, woiuldn't it be more advantagious to buy it from a local camera shop you trust so you have someone local to go to in case you need help? These bigbox stores only sell stuff and typically they have no body there that's an enthusiest or a pro. And a local shop will gladly help you try to save a buck or two on options and filters and even loan you a lens to try to see if you want it before you plunk down that $1300 or more for another piece of glass remote or any of the optional gear.JMHO, but if we don't support our local photo shops, they go the way of the DODO BIRD.

Nikon doesn't let dealers go below a certain point on price, but the sky is the limit if they want to charge more. Years ago, I bought a D90 from a local dealer and paid $100 over list. Before I got my D600, I checked the same store, and they were charging $100 more than anyone online.
Refurb is my first choice. Of course, if a model is very new, they won't be available. My son just got a D3100 refurb, and it had only 44 clicks on the shutter. He got it from Cameta and paid an extra $70 for a 3-year warranty which includes damage from dropping.
I paid north of $1,600 two years ago for that same package so I say enjoy the price point and the equipment. Great camera and lens.

I agree about supporting the local camera shops. The only one left within reasonable driving distance from me is Hunts Camera in Hanover, Ma about an 8 mile drive. I buy certain items there but on my big purchases I buy from Adorama. Reason being is I save 6.25% sales tax. On a $2000.00 purchase were are looking at a shade over $120.00.
