WOW!! now that's some snow! It is so beautiful.
I used to 'dream of a White Christmas.' No more. Three years ago Portland got it's first White Christmas-24" of it! This for a city that averages only 6". This is why you shouldn't get nostalgic about it. I had to drive in it. In a city that doesn't have any snow removal equipment (except for main streets) it was no fun. This is my place.

Wow, I'm picturing 2 feet of snow covering everything. Having no snow removal equipment had to be pretty bad. Thank you for the pictures.
I remember Christmas eve 1989, it snowed in north Florida and the whole city shut down. I will never forget that Christmas.

Aloha, Naomi! I'm a displaced kama'aina living in cold and dreary NJ. We need to switch places now! I miss warm weather, a hearty bowl of saimin with a side order of laulau and hot malasadas for dessert. Notice everything I mention is warm or hot 'cause it's frikkin' cold here in NJ. If you want to see more pics of winter you can visit my site at
www.itsagoodting.smugmug.com. Click on 2010 NJ Blizzard album. Lots of white stuff there! We just had a miserable storm last week. Snow was so heavy it cracked tree limbs and power lines. Not fun, but I'm willing to trade places with you any day now. Hehe! Auwe! My fingers are starting to get numb! Cold weather tends to do that. Take care and Mahalo plenny! - Mike
A Hawaiian digging out off da snow
My neighbors digging out
My neighbors kid throwing a puff of snowball at me.
Hi again. Just one mo' pic for the animal lovers: My dog's first experience with the white stuff.
Aldo's first experience with snow.

Oh my goodness....these pictures are great. And I felt a little chill when I was looking at them.
You are brave to live there. I like the picture "Neighbors digging out" very cool.
I wish I could send you a bowl of saimen, plate of laulau and some hot warm malasadas....to you and your family:)
How long have you been in NJ? I lived in Omaha, NE for 8 years and that was an experience for sure!.
Your pictures are great! Is photography your profession?
Sending you and your ohana plenty Aloha!!!

aww... Aldo looks like out dog. nice picture
Oh, howzzit? That was a fast reply. Of course, it's only after 5 your time. Yup. Chilly is the right word for the weather we're having. For someone who is used to running around in slippah's, 'brave' is also definitely the right choice of word to describe a warm-blooded local boy living in freeze-da-buns-off New Jersey. I sure miss hanging out at Sunset Beach with my friends watching the surfers hang 10 while eating a plate lunch bought off the lunch trucks off the side of the roads. Ahh... da good ol' days...
Dang! What a great pic of Waimanalo and what a great place to have your car break down! Dang! If it weren't too expensive to live there I'd move back in a heartbeat!

Yep it's still evening here. Brave is the first word that came to mind..ha ha ha
I was trying to send you some Aloha and hope I didn't make you home sick.
Another thing I loved doing in the snow when I spent time in Omaha was snow ball fights! is that fun or what? I used to stock pile the snow balls in a bucket and ambush who ever I was fighting against! so much fun!
Drink some hot cocoa, yeah?
Local-boy got to stay warm!
Haha! Yeah. I need a tall cup of hot cocoa. Can't now since it'll keep me up especially when I should be in bed by now since it's 2:35am. Gotta walk the dogs in a few hours. Time to moi-moi. Good nite, Naomi and I'm sure we'll be keeping in touch through this great photography site! Mahalo and sleep tight!
