It's not just the "love of the gun" that is at risk here. It is also your freedom of speech and religious freedoms that are also being attacked.
The Second Amendment was put in place to protect Mr & Mrs America from government.
Austrailia banned guns and grabbed them from law abiding citizens. Their gun violence has dramaticaly gone UP!
Banning guns did not work in the 90's and will not work now.

If he's lucky, we'll get the universal background checks but I really don't see anything more stringent coming out of this. Unfortunate that we can't reach a middle ground but right now the politicians in this country seem to like to take the far right and the far left positions.
Back in the day Republicans and Democrats actually spoke to each other, now they pretty much just stand across the aisle and throw rocks at one another.
I'm hoping they'll all grow up some day.

Sounds good but is not. They screw us when they all basically agree also. I would rather they do nothing because more laws, regulations, taxes, etc., make an already terrible situation worse.

We do need more elected officials who aren't so quick to propose new laws.
Maybe we should try a different approach. Let's deduct money from their paychecks for every bill they introduce. Those who don't propose new regulation get to keep more money.

but out of our domestic business Brit. Let me return the favor, return Northern Ireland to whom you stole it from the Irish. Return Gibraltar back to whom you stole it from the Spanish.Return the Falkland Islands back to Argentina. Abolish the monarchy, it is an archaic relic from days gone by, the time of knights, castles, Kings and catapults is over.
