Welcome to the hog.
Advice .. Get ya own Camera and lens. Then you can mess with the settings and see what setting does what to the end result.
The images you have here are good. I like the dof in the first photo of your daughter.
I think those photos are fantastic! Welcome to the Hedgehog.
I am working on getting some glass.
Nice pictures and welcome! What king of camera are you using?
Thank you, I use my wifes Nikkon 5100.
Welcome to the Hog, Muddog. Your daughter makes a lovely model for you to practice and experiment.
Thank you. To practice I follow her and my cats around.
Yea! Another tarheel! Welcome. I'm in Forest City, an hour from Charlotte. Never heard of your town, where is it.
Thanks for the welcome guys. Varnamtown is beside Holden Beach on the Lockwood Folly river. 25 min. north of the SC state line. Any advice on my photos will be will recieved. I know I have a lot to learn.
"A picture is worth a thousand words"...the bottom line and what I personally believe should be the ultimate goal when conversing without words. One can say so much with the look, that certain, timely glance. Dof is just one of the many subtle tricks to this trade and you, mate, are well on your way. I love that you showed no fear of B&W in your first photo, "Deere Contemplation". As a follow-up, your full color offering of "Out With The Old, In With The New" handily exemplifies the emotional difference between B&W and full color and would make the creators of "The Wizard of Oz" proud. The latter could even be offered to the John Deere folks for commercial consideration. Kudos, Muddog, you seem to have a knack for wordless speech. Keep experimenting!

My advice is to keep shooting. You have some nice photos there and strangely...the more you shoot the better they get (in most cases)
