that photo should be in the oval office and in every congressman's office.

When the army corps of engineers was dredging the the Indian river here in vero beach, they agreed to use what they were dredging up to make an island dedicate to the memory of all veterans of all branches of the military. these photos are from memorial island. each branch has its own memorial, Viet Nam and Korea have a memorial, so does the pearl harbor survivors. In Sebastian they have a memorial to the 5 chaplains who gave up their life vests on a torpedoed transport so others could be saved during ww2. One of the survivors lived in Sebastian and was a driving force behind the memorial.

The are some very nice pictures of the memorials I love seeing stuff like that we need to always remember the veterans who gave all they had for this great country we live in. And we must never forget those that died and those that were wounded .We all are wounded vets that have been in combat if not physically emotioally. Also those who served period gave some part of there life regardles if they were in a conflict or not.

All those who were wounded deserve a special place in the hearts of America.

The 1st. Cavalry I served with in Korea 56 years ago had a different insignia; a yellow shield with the horses's head.

You mean the 1st Cav patch has been changed? To what??

I forgot to mention the stetson cav hat and spurs are the same. If tou were silver spurs you were not in combat with them and if you wear gold spurs that means you wear in combat. And the is still the spur ceremony before you get to wear them
