Dallas hail storm

Our garage is full of photography "goodies" so we wrapped pillows in plastic bags (to absorb the impact of predicted hail) and covered it with a huge tarp. High winds were predicted so we anchored the tarp with horseshoes.

I hope the winds were not blowing hard enough to start whipping the tarp and the horseshoe. That could do some serious damage.

And then the weather forecast was wrong as usual. Just kidding. Good thinking. Only problem might be the horseshoes being kicked around by the wind and damaging the paint it beats hail damage. I've been through that twice.

Wes...Several years ago we'd just bought a new Lexus GS350 and a hail storm was heading our way. Our garage was full, too. We parked in the Dillard's garage until it had passed over.

I met a friend for lunch and went to a local seafood restaurant, He had picked me up and as were having our meal a hail storm came up. Car windshields and rear windows were being knocked out and I thought it was fascinating until I thought about my 300Z two blocks away.

Windshields can be replaced....it's all those dings in a new car I was avoiding. I hope your 300Z didn't get any. Did you lose windows? That was a nice car.

Actually the car already had hail damage when I bought it. I did't lose any glass and in fact no more hail damage. Pretty amazing that the hail was so bad at the restaurant and didn't hit where I was parked. The 300Z was a decent ride but they were getting away from a true sports car. My 260Z and 280Z were much sportier to drive. Especially when I had the suspension on the 280 modified by a guy who raced Z's. It was like night and day in the curves.

Pounder....It was a 280Z that I rode in, not a 300, and it was nice. That's the car that gave Nissan it's name, if you ask me.
