One of my professional photographer acquaintances turned me on to a group that does FREE video seminars a couple years ago... usually 1 or 2 a month... which last any where from 1 to 10 days each. The great thing is that they are FREE, with the hope that you'll purchase the 'replay' of the courses after the fact.
There are a whole lot (thousands usually) of professional & semi-professional photographers that 'tune in' and participate in the chats that happen while the live videos are happening. It's some times difficult to keep up with both (I usually either split screen the low-res video & chat... or set my laptop next to my desktop, with the video on the laptop). The topics are varied, from lighting to flash & fill lights, to studio setup, to post processing (photo shop, elements, etc.). Each course is different, and I've yet to sit through one I didn't learn at least a little something from (through the food & wedding photography ones were probably the most boring to me).
The web site is:
www.creativelive.com - their next course starts on the 11th. Check it out... you seriously won't be disappointed, if you really love photography and want to gleen ideas & concepts & knowledge from others experience and errors.
I'm NOT affiliated with that group in any fashion, just trying to help other photographers... as other photographers have helped me over the years. My 'handle' on that site is the same as here (and yahoo), 'foghornleg90' - say howdy if you see me there.
Sincerely,
Terry (aka foghorn)
Cool thanks for the info. Love the Eagle photos very well done.

Thanks... the Eagle was actually taken with a Canon A650 Pro (pocket camera... which I normally use for scuba & underwater & kayaking/white water stuff).
Personally, I'm most happy & proud of my Butterfly IN FLIGHT shot, as they are friggin hard to capture (follow & predict). But most people don't think about that, UNTIL they try to get those type of captures. Dragon Flies IN FLIGHT are touch too, but once you figure out their territory, focus & framing is the only challenge with them.
Birds with things IN their talons... those are always fun... but usually very time consuming.
I have to agree ... I have yet to have the camera anywhere near when I see a butterfly ... so kudos on that shot too
