Anybody own a PENTAX Q (15100) Black 12.4 MP 3.0" 460K LCD Digital Camera with 2.0 zoom?

what do you think $189 a good price?
Is it a good pocket camera?

Too much money for too little camera. I would prefer the Panasonic Lumix SZ-7 with 10x zoom for $130 or less.

It is all according to what you want in a pocket camera do you want the ability to change lens are do you just want a pocket compact with built in zoom. Go to www.pentaxforums.com there are lots of exaples of image quality and tons of reviews also there are a lot of people that actually own it and can give you first hand experiences with it. There are quite a few over there that have bought a second one since the price has dropped because of the release of the Q10 overall it is considered by most that have it as a great little camera.

The original Pentax Q was initially priced around $800.00 with the 5-15mm zoom lens. Many critics said it was over priced but since the price has fallen the Q has sort of a cult following. The image quality from what I have seen is actually pretty good.

Hi Kestrel thax
I was looking for a cheap pockect cam and this fits the bill. It is really small and I have a few pentax tele lenes laying around. A 200mm turns into (about) 10000mm with a lens converter. This camera looks like a fun toy to play with.

There are some examples on the pentaxforum site I think with someone using the DA*300 on the Q

Hey, guy. I know you posted this long ago but I just got a q. I read the reviews about small sensor, etc. but I have to say I'm amazed at the few shots I've taken. Took pics of some maps I have on the wall and on magnification can read all the details. Looking forward to the first trip with it.
