What are the thoughts on the photo of Obama shooting a shotgun? Is it edited or is it real?
Let's not argue about this. Just your thoughts and maybe an explination of why you have that thought.
Please don't turn this into a gun debate or political debate.
This is a photography forum. This question is calling on the expertise of the photographers.
I trully don't care about your opinion on gun control or politics.
I don't think it is photo shopped, he does have eye and hearing protection. He is a person just like you and I and has 2nd amendment rights like all of us and likes to shoot skeet
O.k. So your answer is that because he has protection you don't think it post edited. Thank you for your answer.;quote=dannyp59]I don't think it is photo shopped, he does have eye and hearing protection. I never even considered the possibility that it was photoshopped. Why? Because even if he had never used a gun before, it is so easy to have him fire off a couple of rounds.
What I don't understand is why anyone would care.
What I don't understand is why anybody would want to get rude and start argueing. If you don't like my post...DON"T RESPOND!@!!!

Good grief...Why can't someone simply ask a question and get a reasonable answer? Why do some have to get defensive???

I guess I didn't give an answer you wanted to hear.
What did I say that was rude and what did I say that was argumentative?
"What I don't understand is why anyone would care".
Has it accured to you that if this is photoshopped he is lying...Here we go with the political argument I was trying to avoid.

No, and it didn't occur to me either.
I think maybe you are thin skinned.
Mac. Have you looked at the photo closely??? Simple question. Please, if you are here as a fellow photographer just take a look closely and give your opinion on whether you think it is or not...That's all I'm asking for. If you don't think so, then wonderful.
I don't know if it has been worked or not. I have just heard some people talking on the local radio about it and can't make up my mind.
I do not have an opinion on this...But, it would matter if it is a photo messed with.
Sorry about my tone earlier.
Just to clarify...They are saying that
1)The gun is too long in porpotion to his body frame.
2) There is some ghosting around his back-side as if he were added.
3) Smoke coming out side of barrel appears to be added to photo.
May be B.S.. As I said I can't decide, but, I'm no expert in photo editing. This is why I ask the question.

No I don't think it is edited, after your question I looked at about 4 different sources for this photo, some of better quality than others. Could find no reason to think it had been shopped.
If you don't want it why ask for it?
What is your intention with this question?
What point are you trying to make?

Why go to a rag like this, it's not worth wrapping dead fish in.
And it's off to the races!
