A few weeks back I bought a potted plant at the flea market. Since it had no flowers only a few buds I wasn't sure what I got, but seller told me it is a Chinese Lantern and he also gave me the botanical name "Abutilon, Tiger Eye" Since one bud opened I thought I share the pleasant surprise with you.

That's so cool! I may have to get one of those plants now (as long as it'll grow in this zone)!

Those are great Mike! You sure get some great colors my friend. How long did it take to flower? Just two weeks. Does it look like you will get more flowers. That is just plan awesome!!

Mike,

These are great flowers. I have them, and their unique shape, form and color make them wonderful photographic subjects.

Your posted captures are wonderful, with number 4 being a plum perfect art image. Nicely done.

Thanks very much Erv. There are a lot of tiny buds, I should get more flowers in the future, I have to transplant as it is in a plastic pot. It should do fine in my area as it doesn't get too hot, morning sun it says. I hope it survives.

Thank you very much. Are you keeping these in shade? Isn't it to hot for them in Sonora?
