Sigma Lens Compatibility

I am considering upgrading to the new Canon 6D. I presently own a Sigma 10-20mm DC HSM 4-5.6 wide angle and a Sigma 18-250mm DC HSM 3.5-6.3 telezoom lens which I use with a Canon T2i. Will those lenses work with the Canon 6D?

No. Those lenses are both "DC" lenses, these equate to EF-S lenses in Canon speak. Your 6D is the Canon introductory full frame body and requires the EF series lenses that all Canon full frame bodies require. In Sigma terms these lenses all carry the "DG" designation.

Thanks for the quick response. I knew someone would be able to answer that question. I do have a Canon EF 24-70mm lens and a "nifty-fifty" 1.8 which will work with the 6D, but I want something with more reach. I intend to keep the T2i and retire (trade) a XTi. So, the two Sigma lenses will still be useful. Any suggestions for a lens with similar capability to the Sigma 18-250mm that will work with the 6D?

I am a big fan of the 28-300mm Nikon, and Canon makes one also, but I think their price is ridiculously high for what it offers.

The 'DC' designation indicates that those lenses are designed for DSLRs with APS-C or smaller sensors, and aren't suitable for use on a full-frame body (the image circle isn't large enough, and vignetting will occur).

They are EF-S mounts and will not match up to a full frame Canon 6D mount. You need EF mount lenses.

The closest lens to the 18-250mm for a full frame is an EF 28-300mm f/3.5-5.6 Sigma for ~$400 or Canon "L" IS for ~$2500. The Canon is a sweet lens

And the Canon 6D is rated as a great camera for STILL images. It's getting hammered on the video, so that may be a dealbreaker for some ... the video.
