Have decided to purchase the Nikon D7000. Have searched B&H, Adorama, Amazon & Best Buy. Can't get under $896.00 for new and $749 for refurbished. Not look to get something for nothing but would very much like to stretch my $$$.

Any other reputable web sites can anyone recommend???

That's about the going price for a mid level Nikon D7000, new or used. I'd be a little suspicious if I seen one lower than that.

If you spend the money you won't be sorry. The D-7000 has a lot of great features. Very good low-light camera too.

Find a cheap price online even if you would never buy from them (like AJRICHIES who are a rip off, a scam and thieves so never buy from them) then go into Best Buy and ask them to price match it.

I bought a refurb D7000 a couple of months ago from Cameta...mostly because of their free warranty extension. It included other stuff for their lowest price: check out the kits.

Altough refurbished the camera appears to be brand new and the shutter count on it was zero. It is working fine.

Cameta's service was fine and I had no sales tax and free shipping.

However I will add that I prefer the D5100 over the D7000. If money is an issue they are selling for quite good prices now that the D5200 has come out.

The D5100 has the same sensor as the D7000, better video performance, and a fully articulated screen. I was pleasantly surprised by how useful the articulated screen is.

I also prefer the way settings work on the D5100. The large LCD layout is better than the cluttered one on the D7000 and you don't have to search around for buttons. I can't read the D7000's little green LCD without reading glasses. I don't normally have my reading glasses when shooting.

The D7000 has several mechanical advantages over the D5100. (e.g. in-camera focusing motor, weather protection, and better viewfinder). If those matter most to you then it certainly is a good choice.

My wife took my D5100 and won't give it back so I'm stuck with the D7000. I'd happily trade it for a D5200!

I would not rank Best Buy up there with B&H and Adorama. They have (when I stopped dealing with them) a restocking charge for returned merchandise.

Don, stick with Adorama, B&H, Camerta, or 42nd St. Photo. Of these, Adorama, and B&H have the best reputations. Stay away from Ajrichies (which also does business as 'Camera Promo'). I've also heard negative things about Abe's of Maine. I personally had a horrible experience with them..which remains unresolved (since June!)
I purchased a refurbished D7000 from Adorama and had it in 3 days...just like new. I'm very pleased.

I purchased a D7000 in Dec. love the camera, have purchased two other DX format lens 10-24mm and the 18-300. Friends have recommended that since this is my first DSLR I should be buying FX format lenses. If and when I upgrade to a FX format camera body I will have glass I can use. They say your lenses will last a lifetime but not a camera body, is this good reasoning ?
