Here's another type. This is Shoshone Falls on the Snake river in Idaho. It is a mere trickle compared to the water that thunders over it in the spring. All the water west of the continental divide from Yellowstone National Park and the west side of the Tetons heads over it then on its way to the Columbia.
The specks are flying geese.

Hey Erv, thanx for the compliment. :D I worked hard to get that picture. It's about ten miles NW of here and pretty hard to navigate when there's ice. I was carrying my camera on a tripod and had a hard time finding a good perspective to shoot from. I probably could have gotten some better shots if I kept going down hill. But then I would have to climb back up. :(
