There is virtue in everything, Barbara!
ah, that is what I thought, "it's in the eye of the beholder, or in this case, the photographer!!" Thanks for replying so quickly...

Barbaradear, I have always thought that the pictures I take are for my benefit and enjoyment, unless I have been paid to take them, then it is an entirely different matter. If I like them and choose to share them with others and they enjoy them then that is a bonus.
In relation to you picture, which to me seems to have an etherial quality, the question is, "Do you like it?" If you do then keep it and don't worry about what others may think of it. If you don't like it then put it in the trash bin.
Here you are just as likely to get as many who like it as don't. You are then in the same position as you are now and YOU still have to make the decision.
Enjoy the photos you take, because there must have been something there in the first place that made you take it.
To be honest Barb, I would not keep it.
I don't think I've taken a photo that I don't like - you know what I mean. Thank you Malcolm for your reply, you're very kind.

Nor would I, unless it had some sort of personal significance to me. It is kinda mystical. 8-)
I have it with other photos I took that day, so I kept it - the others were much better. Thank you for replying...

I like what you have tried to capture I would have tried a similar shot, maybe get a cheap tripod and using a remote timer play with setting up a shot, try different ISO settings.
Do you have a UV filter? That would bring out some more of the blues or even an ND filter.
I carry these and a few lenses every where my camera and I go.. just in case )

good advice, tompar, thanks for your input.
Crop it and use the upper part for a back ground. It makes a very nice background to add to portrait
