Cool House

I guess a man's house really Is his castle.

Slightly overcast and straight out of the camera.
I still shot them on auto but I did put on the
EF 100-400mm lens
plus: they are out of focus a bit because I was totally brain dead and forgot to set up the tripod that was waiting in the back seat lol and it is quite windy out today.

My question is ... how would You edit these shots pp to clean them up ?
Feel free to experiment if you like.

Alright, so basically I used PS CS5 to edit this. I'm a rookie at ps so if you don't like it, please feel free to let me know, no hard feelings from me.
I started with the crop as you can see which corrected the rule of 3rds and then used thresh hold to find the blackest point and the whitest point then moved around the grays to find the 50% gray pin pointing each one. I then canceled thresh hold and went to levels, in levels I used the black eye dropper and selected the blackest pin point, then same with white, and same with gray in this order. I then sharpened the edges only, then upped the color contrast by about 10% more. Then saved it and here it is. What do you honestly think?

I think it is now looking over processed, and the crop is too much crop.. the rule of thirds is a guideline not necessary on every shot. If you had shot this in RAW you would have been able to bring the exposure to a better place and save it. Any chance of getting this shot again? Try a different time of day .

Yeah it's only about 25 miles down the road. Now that I understand the concept of RAW ... that would have been a great way to take this shot .... I agree it needs a do over lol.

Hi, are you talking about the edit I done? If so, maybe you should stop and think for a minute? The only thing I did was cropped it down so you could actually see the place and not the hill it's sitting on and for the processing it was only taking the blacks to 12, Whites to 250, and 50% grey to 126. You can watch video's on how to edit "Only to correct the color values to what was seen on many websites, however, this was taught in an online school course... If you can do it better using the "non original" Please, by all means, Show Your Work... Thanks.

Here is my try in 8 seconds. I personally would try and shoot that again at a different time of day if possible it would be a fantastic shot with a sunset sky . I cropped a little cut not too much and cropped from the side as well and enhanced the colors a bit. Hard as the file is small ..

You could also do a layer and put a more interesting sky behind ?

I know, I was talking to the other one... Anyway, because it's so close to you, Do you think you can go back sometime and get a closer shot, not so far away?

Then post the original so I can really work on it? I like the "Cool house" I have nothing to prove. Just wanted to see a little more detail in the house...
