I shot a model last Saturday afternoon and started editing the images in PS CS5 that evening. Over the next 3 days I edited 8 or 10 images and on the 4th day all of the images that I shot with my Nikon D700, approx 150, where gone. I also used a D200 to take 6 other shots using on camera flash, these shots were still in the folder that was created using PS Bridge. Only the shots taken with the D700 were missing. I scanned my hard drive, my SD card, and looked every where I could think of but was unable to locate. I use a Mac Book Pro for all my editing. I did leave Bridge open for a few days with this particular folder open as well and was wondering if this had anything to do with it. Any help would be much appreciated.
Since you have a Mac, did you try a search on your computer in the Finder for any of the image file numbers? Or do you not have any file numbers to refer to. Are they still on your card?
They've got to be there somewhere, just hidden in the wrong folder?
Thanks Wendy. I could probably get the file numbers since I haven't used the SD card since. I've searched all the obvious places on my hard drive. I even downloaded one of the lost file recovery programs and scanned my SD card. I'm guessing I need to do the same on my HD. It just seemed odd that the only ones missing were from the card in my D700 and the images shot with my D200 were still there.
Search by date on your Mac. It will show everything filed that day.
When you discover you've misplaced something using Photoshop, immediately, under file, choose "open recent" and a list should appear. I think you can actually set this to variable lengths of time.

Everyone here has given you some great advice. My only advice if all else fails, is to call up Apple and make a "one on one" with the genius bar, and take your mac book pro with you. If they cant find it, noone can. In any event, welcome to the hog, soft lights.
Rich
Thanks Rich, I think that is my last option. I've never seen or heard of this before, they just vanished from everywhere.
Thanks again.
Welcome. Hope you find your pictures. If you do, would love to see them.
Can't help there, but welcome.

Thank you, still looking, about to give up.
Thank you, still looking.
Welcome, hope you can figure out the problem and if you do please share!
I located the recovery disc that came with one of my sandisc sd cards deep in a dark corner of my camera bag, ran it managed to recover all of the original, unedited shots. IBD, those things actually work. Thanks to everyone for your input.
