I am undecided: I want a superzoom and have settled on the Canon sx50 as far as current models in release, but know that Fuji is coming out with the SL 1000 and has the HS 50. Should I get the sx50 or wait? And which is better - the SL 1000 (which is considerably cheaper than the hs50) or the hs50? Why is the hs50 so expensive?
Panasonic has a 60X, with the extra zoom at the wide end: 20-1200mm.

In the uk the price is about the same, I have the fuji hs50 and I love it!, I had a canon sx40 but the fuji is so much better, advantages include proper manual zoom, faster lens and much faster focus, the fuji feels like a proper camera, the canon like a toy really, horrid black smooth body, if you are thinking of buying canon sx50 just go to you nearest camera stockist and handle the fuji, you will be surprised, also don't trust snap sort, they are heavily biased towards canon, I don't know why

Snap sort is unreliable, biased towards canon , best bet I'd read all the reviews you can and make your own mind up
