most of this stuff is hand held by me

there is a tripod in the closet

I want a tripod!!!!

So, do you think if you go in his closet, will he notice?

I'm willing to risk it!

William - you didn't hear that, did you?

It's a Monfrotto 3221WN and it's fine to shoot with, I would
recommend it ... if I stole one ... this is it and I've got the
horizontal pistol grip for quick work, there's the monopod
with the vertical grip too.
I use both for close up work sometimes.
I took everyting I had to Texas and Natchez and it was the
D3100 with the Nikkor 24-85 2.8 (film lense) all hand held ... no other
equipment was used ... it easy to move around and works fine. Bv

I remembered ... I did use the tripod once in Texas.

When it was large format I had no choice ... now I'm free

but a tripod is basic gear ... so steal one or go buy one soon,
it will improve your work and it's nice to have free hands at times.
Do not buy a cheep one ... you will regret it so soon.

Those are excellent Nan! I can't decide either... but I think I'm partial to the last one. I think the blue in the middle makes it pop.

I have to agree with Simon....that this is a GREAT thread and there are GREAT people who really are interested in keeping this going. Without you, there would have been none of this![/quote]

Exactly...and not just because Swede moderates, he created a family.

I just did this one. In the edit I kicked the frames up from 10 to 30 and got much better results.

A photo taken late afternoon during the fall. Cranked through Gimp for a fractal layer, some other fun and games, then into Photoshop for some additional treatment. I probably couldn't repeat this to save my life.

Thank you for the compliments! I agree with you that it seems like an extended family; which I enjoy very much. It is an honor to be thought of that way and I appreciate it!

We had an excellent dinner. Zack is a wonderful 20 year old (his birthday is the 18th so we celebrated). His education in an international school in Yokohama and now a Sophomore at Tampa University gives him a broader view than most. He plays on the Varsity Soccer team as substitute goalie. So I guess you can see we are a little proud of him.
