We have a newborn grandchild coming in a few months. is there a good tutorial, blog or instruction of newborn photography. I'm looking for poses & safety is the priority, I'm not a Ann Getties. But I would like some unique shots.

check out the link below, it's a blog post on I Heart Faces that lists more than a few resources on newborn photography, from poses, to lighting, to tips for the parents and post work in photoshop. Kind of a one stop place for all the hints you might need.

I don't do newborn photography, babies scare the poop out of me. I'm scared I'll break them, lol.

When you get done with that go to the top of this page, in blue you will find 'SEARCH', click on it. In the window put something like new born photography or something like that and everything that has been discussed here will come up good luck

You have some good links below, but my key suggestion is to use a latge diameter 85 mm portrait lens that has good light gathering capability, and do NOT use flash or you will frighten the poor baby to pieces and do her tender eyes no good. Congratulations, and enjoy this and future photo sessions with mom, dad, and baby !
