I hope to get to know you all well and any tips would be greatly appreciated. Have a great day and I'll be talking to some of you soon. :D I've attached a photo of my nephew that I've tried some different editing software on so I'd love some feedback, good or bad, I love constructive criticism. Have a great day everyone and happy shooting to you all. :)

My Great Nephew Ethan... He's losing his weight now. Shooting up and slimming down. :(

Beka.... He's a cutie.... I like it, the focus is a little soft, but that may be what you intended. I think a softer focus on children can add to many shots. A super sharp focus can be harsh at times. I have some of my daughter when she was young, that have a softer focus, and they are some of my favorites.

Welcome to the Hog.... Mike

Thank you very much for your reply. I thought it was a little soft but it was so cute I didn't want to change it. Lol... I'd love to see your shots, I'm just learning the site, but I'll do my best to go check them out. Thanks again... :)

Beka... Here's one I took many years ago of my daughter. She was in a hollow redwood tree laying on its side, about 12 to 15 foot in diameter. It's soft, but one of my favorites of her. In the end it all boils down to what you like.

Welcome aboard... There are many great photographers online here, with outstanding pictures. Looking forward to seeing more of your photos.

Mike

She is beautiful :) and this is a great picture. I'll post more of different things I've taken and I'd love to get your feedback. Again, she's beautiful, and I personally love the softness of the photo. Great shot... :)

Thank you Ray... We'll have to see how close our cameras are. Maybe we can help each other along. :) Have a good night and I'll talk to you soon. Sleep well...

Hello, Because his eyes are looking down it makes me wonder what he is doing. I think that cropping out the hand creates a tension in the image. Tension can be good or bad depending on the direction of the tension. Its all what your personal style is. When I shoot an image, as I look through the viewfinder I plan on that being the final image without any cropping. With this in mind it makes me think twice about my imaging before I click the shutter. Take your time and decide that what you see in the viewfinder will be your final image. This will slow you down and make you a much better photographer in the long run. Keep shooting.
