Wall Painting on West Side of San Antonio...........

These pictures were taken from an open car window as we traveled west on Commerce Street, west of downtown San Antonio. We were in heavy traffic and it was getting dark, fixin to rain. It appears that this wall painting was done to honor blues music. I took these pictures with an older Sony A300 DSLR camera using a vintage (1985) Minolta 28-85mm F3.5 lens. Tejaswrangler :)

colo43, there are many of these paintings on the side of buildings on the West Side of San Antonio. To me, they are beautiful, and it amazes me that folks have this talent. In the near future, I would like to spend a complete day devoted to taking pictures of these wall paintings on the West Side of San Antonio. Thanks for viewing the pictures. :)

Fred they are most enjoyable, especially to someon... (show quote)

colo43, what surprises me is the lack of recognition given to this form of art, and the artist themselves. I saw another wall painting with a Vietnam War theme, but it was raining so hard at the time, and I could not take the picture. Like most folks, I even had trouble doing one of those "paint by the number" paint kits that I got for Christmas when I was a young boy. Tejaswrangler :)

LOL
I could manage those, its freehand that gets me each time. I took a class back 3 years ago, when it came to adding the mtns - they over took the whole painting.
all i could do was sit there and laugh and wait for the class to end. I came right home and tossed that canvas into the can.. The brushes and oils are still sitting there waiting for the next dummy to try ..
Sure won't be me, again!

steve6, you would be surprised at the sharpness produced by some of the older Minolta AF lens. Thanks for viewing the pictures. :)
