Nice pix! I like all three. I'm partial to the barn picture, but the sky behind the barn is kind of undramatic.

Thank you, Indi. I am still learning about my camera, having had it only a month, without a lot to time to spend using it so far. But, I am feeling more comfortable with it. I've been reading several books on photography, and wow, once you read what you SHOULD be looking for, from a photographer's perspective, what makes a nice pic, it takes time to compose a shot, at least it seems so to me. There's a lot of difference between a snapshot and a photograph...lol. Oh well, we learn by doing..or at least I do. Have a great day!

What is your new camera?
I love editing pix as much as I love taking them. With your permission, I'm going to see what I can get from your pix with my editing. OK?
BTW, I started a thread called Recommended Books. If you found a book that helped you, please add it to the thread.

I have a Canon T2i. The learning curve is not that steep, insofar as the buttons, as I previously had a Canon EOS. I bought the T2i not due to the reviews..but also it allows me to use the lens from my film SLR. I have a nice 100-300 that I didn't want to part with. And a nice bonus was that my remote control from my EOS works on the T2i. It's more that enough camera for my needs.
And I'll check out your book thread.

I did some editing on your pix. Do you mind if I post them?
On the T21, can you compose a picture on the LCD screen?

Be my guest...of course you may post your edits.

Yes, I can compose on the LCD with the T2i.

I asked that because a friend bought a Canon DSLR for his wife a couple of years back and there appeared to be no way to compost on the LCD, only see the image after it was taken.
Here are my edits. Hope you like them.

In the 1st, I darkened the shadows, increased the contrast & saturation, leveled slightly, & tweaked the focus. (I couldn't any more drama out of the sky.)
In the 2nd, I took that image and ran it through the ReDynamix filter in PS 7 (HDR)
Basically, I did the same with all three of your images.

Hi David.... Being you're in Santa Rosa, our weather kinda mirrors yours, just a little later....;0) Just a few minor clouds hanging over the east mountains this morning. I guess rain/snow later this week, at least you don't have to worry about the snow part. :D

I like them, especially #2. I only have PSE 9, so my editing is more limited than with PS. Thanks for taking time to work with these.
I don't know what model Canon your friend has, but on mine, there is a button on the back, called "Live View/Movie Shooting", (I think that's the one..). Pressing it allows me to view the subject before shooting.

Yes it is, and I don't get up there often enough. I also love Lake Tahoe, about 22 mile drive from my place. I need to get up, and shot some more pictures of the waterfalls above Emeral Bay area.

Take Care.... Mike
