Apologies tilde531 I am not the brightest lamp in the box today.
Are you a *snickers bar* (the chocolate treat) addict. I think it would make a good name. I changed my avatar image to start the year off.

Not as much a snickers bar addict as a person who is easily amused and sometimes too inclined to type what she feels. *blush* (see what I mean?)

Yeah, well... there's a gentleman on the forum here, Ian Hargraves, who has been trying to teach me proper English-speak... but I'm not a very good student! ;) lol

Cheers! :)

Not into the subtleties of Pigs and Hogs, I only know we have Wild Boar over here for it's flavour of meat.

The mention of English Language is very timely. An englishman on a business trip who is a Hogger saw my first childish post on saturday and had a day to kill. He suggested if I wanted to get a new camera I should get a Canon. After several phone calls my wife and I met him North of Salisbury and my wife went clothes shopping (big mistake) and I went with iain to Best Buy to get a camera in the $600 range. After iains advice I purchased a CanonEOS60D and we spent an hour or so making photos with it. He was so patient and helpful and even showed me how to email stuff as well. Thanks iain for the advice. Sorry you lost your way at end of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge and missed your flight. I was facinated at the cockney accent and he remarked that not so many people realise that england and america are two nations divide by a common language. He was highly amused also , he used my old IBM laptop to show me how to access email and he had two PMs from Hoggers asking if he also posted under the name of iain barber . He thought that was hillareous since iain barber was a million times more proficient with a camera and a lot younger. My wife had joined us by that time and compared the two face photos- avaters? and said she preferred the older person as he looke more english. I asked he how does and englisman look . No answer.
maybe her secret thing shows a preference for older me. Just a word of thanks again to iain and if you are ever up our way again " pop in old chap for a cuppa tea and crumpets" see i even learned som proper english speak.

Thanks jameskimber such a fascinating story.
George Bernard Shaw observed that "America and England are two nations divided by a common language." This is never more apparent than when Cockney rhyming slang is spoken. It originated in London, but is spoken all over Great Britain. It is baffling for the first-time listener. Once you pick up the pattern of it, then it's all "lemon squeezy" (easy).
Cockney rhyming slang originally sprung up during the 1800s in that area of East London which was within hearing distance of the "Bow Bells" of St Mary-Le-Bow church in Cheapside. Although no one knows for certain why rhyming slang developed, a popular theory is that the locals used it to communicate without giving themselves away to the police.
There are many dialects in England and it is not easy to understand them all. Presumably this is the same in America and Canada.

Thanks jeanbug35

He was friendly. with his owner; who got the pig to stand on the wall for me.
A bit like Pavlov's dog (food was probably the inducement).

Great shot! But I don't see him as smiling, but sticking his tongue out at you!

Have you ever seen pig’s teeth?
This one was slothering (foam around the mouth).

Lucky he is in the UK and not mixed in with the German tradition of 'pork and kraut' for New Year's Day. Therefore, I guess he has reason to smile.
