Not ANOTHER railroad person.

But you are welcomed anyway. Just take your shoes off, put your feet up and stay awhile. You are among friends. What we do here is shoot, post and ask questions.

Great shots. I like the composition in the second one. :)

I love trains and airplanes, and thank you so much for the positive encouragement. I'm new at this and have a lot to learn.

Actually, I love anything transportation related. Boats, Trains, Airplanes, Motorcycles and Cars. I'll be posting some aircraft photos from Charlotte NC later today, if the weather holds out. Cant wait to see how they are reviewed. The folks on here are so helpfully honest. Great to be here and glad I found it.
Happy New Year.

Hi Doug....Welcome to the hog. Your first post is very good. May i critique it a bit? pic 1 Excellent. The ties show beautifully. Crisp shot. pic 2 the tracks.....i would have liked to see a little more sharp focus in the foreground, and then maybe fading off to blur.
To give a little more substance to the tracks and ties. pic 3.....The piece of metal banding came out perfect, was there any more of it on the upper side? What were you trying to show? In any event, all three shots are a very good first post.

Rich:
Thank you for the critique. I'm new to this and really enjoy the hobby so far. I have so much that I want to learn and placing my photo's on a forum like this is so beneficial. Everyone here is awesome, and very talented based on the work I've seen. Cant wait to do some more posts but it's raining pretty good out there now. To answer your questions Rich, I just thought the metal banding was interesting sticking out of the pile of ties, no other reason. And the blurred photo of the tracks was intentional. I only wanted the first few inches in focus, think I should have gone a little further out though.

Rich, I just checked out your work on Flikr. WOW, amazing work. I love the old outhouse, and the colors and definition at the renaissance festival are fantastic. I hope to get this talented one day.
