This is my first attempt at HDR with other effects using PSC6. The original photo was taken by my daughter with a point and shot camera. Picture #2 has a little editing on the right side of the temple. Picture #3 is the HDR using Photomatix Pro. Picture #4 is the card - I think it needs a little work.
I have been there - that is a beautiful photograph! What a wonderful place to start out the new year!

Nice image, but why bother with HDR? Just a little tweeking with highlights and contrast gives almost same effect.

Accually, I just wanted to try HDR. I agree that a little tweeking makes for a better photo. I am on the "a photograph should not look like a painting" side. I still take pride in taking a good picture. However, it is fun to play and create artsy images. Some of the transitions into Artsy that are posted on this site are amazing. #2 is hanging on my wall. My daughter (21) wants an overcooked HDR for her wall.
