Bought an M8 leica. Will an after market digital flash, pro master 7500EDF work properly or should I get the leica flash unit?

Wow, not knowing anything about Leica... Being a Canon guy. I did a search, and holy moly, expensive!!!! I say go with the super expensive Leica flash. Why cheap out now.

Todays flashes talk to the cameras software to get the best results. If you dont match your flash to your camera youre not going to get the best results. Try putting a Ford water pump on a Chevy. Think about it! Youll learn that there is no cheap way out with photography. You truly get what you pay for.

Happen to own the after market from previous equipment. I sound like the guy atMacD's loading up with all and then ordering a diet coke. I'll go for the better model they offer. You are right. Thaks

It really depends on what you are using it for. For example: With macro, I never (yes, not once) use TTL-- only manual.

I have not done macro. Portrays and sports some landscape. Mainly thinking of shadow a picante and portraits. Thank you.

I don't know how but can I use one off camera w/o hurting the camera. I"'d likely get the Leica flsh anyway?
