Cemetery Circuit Wanganui
good action photo
I like :)
A day at the races is always a good day.
Great angle - just too bad about the background. It is busy and lots of color to attract as much attention as the bikes.
I don't shoot as much motorsports now as I used to, but I tended to use f2.8 or f4 all the time for just this reason. With a 200mm focal length, at f2.8 and a subject at 100 feet, the DOF is around12-13 feet - plenty to get the subject but short enough to to push the BG into a softer look.
The much tougher solution is to always pick a location that gave a good angle on apex exit AND gave a featureless background. Not always possible.

Thats the problem with a street meeting, you are going to get people in background.Appreciate comments 'tho.Still able to sell to motorcycle magazines ....
Yep - sometimes there are no good choices for position. But your aperture does look like you could open up a bit more. Were you using a 2.8 lens?

No had a Canon 70-300 F4 lens on.
Nice sunny day picture. Here's one from rainy Silverstone.
