I hesitated to post these shots from Boxing Day - having looked in awe at the results from other members! However, they may become a record of my progress with any luck, so here goes. Had just failed to take any decent shots of the Egret which, when I got home and downloaded, I later realised was a Spoonbill!! We have about a dozen or so visiting, so will have another go. Anyway, walking back to the car bumped into the 'pecker.
their all very good and show them of in their natural habitat i love number 2 ,look forward to see more posts from.
I was just about to say I loved No2 and then had another look and love all three.

Thanks Gregory - I'll see what I can do. First attempt was a disaster - see attached!

You did good. Woodpeckers are pretty hard to capture.

 Nice series. Thanks for sharing.
Enjoyed these very much. Is that rain in the 2nd one or chips flying from the woodpecker's pounding away at the log?

Thanks for commenting - it's rain - we've had so much of it I didn't think to mention it! He did tear bits off the trunk, but just dropped them down. Glad you like him.

To everyone that has commented, many thanks for your time and kindness - I know the Spoonbill shots are rubbish, but they are a record of my (and their) visit, and I'll try to get some better ones - if only I could get a little closer!!
Great shots, our woodpeckers are very shy. Love the little tit.
