What is this spider and is he dangerous, I was sitting by my curds and way and he came and sat beside me.
*BEAMS*
I see my minion has found you and is keeping watch over you as instructed, Ian! LOL ;)
I have no idea what they're actually called but they make a zig-zag pattern in their web so I call them "zipper" spiders.
I don't think they're dangerous... unless you're on the menu!
This photo has me quivering though!
LOVE it!!
The one thing I can tell you about this spider is that he is CREEPY!
I don't know but I'm convinced if it has eight eyes and eight legs it can't be good.

There was a joke "What did Little Miss Muffet and Sadam Hussein have in common?
They both had Kurds in their way.
I believe it's a Banana spider...harmless, but still who cares? it's a spider!!
It looks just like this spider that I shot over in Okinawa, Japan while staying at Okuma military resort in July 2010.
this is a Golden silk orb-weaver spider and is very common in subtropical and tropical regions. It's very similar and closely related to the "Banana Spider." Not a huge fan of spiders and a bit phobic because of bad experiences with them. I leave them alone and they leave me alone. But if they get too close to my personal space, then it's goodbye spider...

I live in S FL, we get a bunch of spiders. You get used to them, I don't like walking into the webs much.
As the story goes, when you squish one it smells like bananas.
I have seen these as big as your hand, with 10 ft webs. This one was about the size of my palm.
Banana Spider on front porch
not my front porch

What lens did you use for this shot?
Creepy images, but amazing photography! Very cool! The skill overrides the phobia!
Here's one for ya~
Taken in Haiti...right by the front door!
Ahhh, the joys of being on a tropical island.
