I often - not always - hear that Oly E-M5 provides noticeable better image quality than Panny G3. Is this for real? If so, are lenses the reason, or, in other words, both cameras using the same lenses should still show IQ differences?

My personal opinion is that, currently, the sensor in the Olympus OM-D E-M5 is a huge improvement over previous Olympus and some other 4/3rds sensors (including those in the Panasonic cameras). I have the Olympus Pen EPL-5 (which has the same sensor as the E-M5), and its image quality is outstanding.
Not a very good picture, but look at the doll's beard and the fine detail the sensor captures.
