A very formal portrait of a Blue Jay.
I was anxious to get a very detailed shot of a Blue Jay, for a friend of mine. 'Jack' is always available so I used him. After all he works for peanuts. I wanted a complete side shot but that's not so easy with this bird since he keeps his eyes on me waiting for the next treat. I had to wait until something distracted him and he finally gave me the pose I wanted.
The second picture was taken a short while ago and shows you how Jack will often take his treats from me.
He has to stop being so shy.

Thank you. I can feel the nails but that's about it. No puncture marks.

Another amazing set Joe and I agree with evansgr...you are definitely "The Bird Whisperer"!!!
The first is a very nice shot, but the second shows the character of the bird.
Amazing! And those birdie claws look like they could really dig in!
Fantastic! Next to squirrels, blue jays love those peanuts. He must know you pretty good, Joe.
