It was more money than luck. The plane was Yankee Lady out of MI. My ride was at the 2008 Indy Air Show. It was quite a thrill, loud, lots of vibration, and smells like oil, it was great. :) While it was on the ground they let me get in the ball turret (nobody can be in the ball in the air, FAA rules  ) Maybe I will change my avatar to the picture one of the crew took of me in the ball.
I've promised myself I'd spend less time on my computer.... Shame on y'all for making me break it!!..

It's Boeing's plane, but I have not been to Boeing Field since the 50th anniversary of the B-17 (one of my best friends works for Boeing Military). It was then that I saw a formation of 3 B-17's fly over, but at that time this one was still painted like a fire fighting bomber (they had just aquired it).

I have had the privilege to pilot a Cessna 172 from startup to shutdown several years ago and have also gone up in a Cessna 140 and a Piper Tomahawk. I have always dreamed of getting a pilot's license...never had the funds.
I flew radio controlled planes from 1987-2004...haven't flown much since then, though I do still have some of the planes, engines, etc.
