Greetings! My name is Phil and I live in Newberry, SC only because my daughter and granddaughter are here. Don't get me wrong, This is a nice little town with a lot of history.
When I started to talk to my monitor, I decided it was time to dive in and get involved. I learned so much from all of you and I thank you for allowing me to just listen.
Anyway...! I bought a Sony a390 and work with the kit lens, 3.5-5.6/18-55 SAM Zoom. I also have a Tamron 75-300mm 1:4-5.6 LD TELE-MACRO(1:3.9) LENS. I plan to purchase another lens as soon as I get over Christmas.
I got serious about photography again because my Granddaughter stole my heart. I can't get enough of her. You will probably get tired of seeing her image. But that's OK.
I've posted a couple of images that represent my current ability. All critiques are welcomed and appreciated.

If it helps, your pix are well executed and particularly the third one is quite charming.

Wow dachs, When I read that title here it does sound very freaky. What a way to get started.

Hi Phil from SC, welcome to the hog. Im glad you have been watching us...Now you are out of the "closet." Your posts are great, but for one thing. Picture #1, make sure it is level and not tilting if there is a distinct horizon line like the bottom of the doors. The rest of your post is great.

Hey, I sure will holler! Where is there a marshy area we can shoot ducks? I've been looking in all the wrong places.

Thanks Gaylord. I just told one of the others I couldn't beleave I did that. But hey, Look at how I spelled "opra".
It's not Opra's house, it's an OPERA House! I alwys try to do a good job. Even when I screw up I try to do a good job at it.
