These are all beautiful, but the lightning is absolutely amazing! Don't know that I would even be brave enough to try that! lol

I really like the second one, Audie. I travel between CO and NC a lot, and don't take I70 anymore (always finding some new route), and have seen some pretty amazing places in KS.

A lot of people say that Ks. Is flat and ugly. But I believe that Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I find Many Many Beautiful sites in Ks. I live in the eastern part where there are Hills and Valleys. The second shot was off the north deck of my house. It took 2nd at the Greenwood County Fair last year.

Thanks for posting these, Audie. Very nicely done! I love to photography fog and storms too, but I'm not brave enough to try that lightening shot! I mean, WOW, look at all those streamers coming up from the ground! Was your hair standing on end?

Love the lightening shot. Kansas has some of the neatest lightening storms. We just sit and watch them...from the relative safety of our garage that is. :) Good pictures. And I agree, if people say Kansas is flat then they haven't really been through here.

Oh Yes, my hair always stands on end when I shoot lightning, cause I'm so excited just to be there. I do my best to stay in my comfort zone though. There have been times when I've had to pack up and leave real fast cause I stayed too long in one spot.

Great shots and I can relate to the Flint Hills. From 1959 to 1961, I worked on the Phillips Petroleum Company's pipeline, during the summers while I was going to college and dug in those hills. I stayed in Eureka (Brown Palace Hotel) and worked out of Thrall which was about 15 miles north of Eureka. I understand it is no longer there (tornado?). These pictures bring a lot of memories and I appreciate you sharing.
