Millions, billions, trillions. I seem to have run out of fingers!!
I read an article in Readers Digest, probably forty years ago, that I have never forgotten, as tou can tell. It dealt with money. They were trying to get their point across as to how we have progressed from talking in terms of millions to talking about billions. You know how brand new dollar bills stick together. Well, imagine a stack of brand new 'one thousand' [$1,000.00] dollar bills 8 inches high (think what you could do with that)! That little stack equals one "MILLION" dollars [$1,000,000.00]. Now, one "BILLION" dollars [$1,000,000,000.00] is those same brand new 'thousand' dollar bills stacked as high as the 'WASHINGTON MONUMENT' (a neat little stack, huh?)! For just one "TRILLION" dollars, what we talk about today, we need to have "ONE THOUSAND WASHINGTON MONUMENTS". So how many 'thousands' of Washington Monuments is our national debt?
Somebody help me. I seem to have run out of fingers!!!

And you take that last little pile & add 15 more just like it and you have our national debt. Our children's children's children's children will never be able to pay it all back. We are so stupid for letting the political class get us into this mess.
If you would have taken the stimules money and divided it up evenly to everyone in the US we would all be multi millionairs. Would that stimulate the economy?
How much of that stack represents military spending?
