Isn't it strange how different people see different things? Cap'n I admire your obvious knowledge and ability of/in photography (I mean that - not just blowin'). The Portraits you posted the other day were fantastic. Buy when I look at that photo I automatically look at the people first - I noticed the colour second. PLEASE don't let this develop into an argument - been enough of those on this site lately. Just wanted to remark on how different people see things differently.

Point taken. Here is the issue: rarely is selective color used well. It should be used to highlight the whole point of the image, which in this case should be people. If this were an advertisement for blue shirts and dresses, then maybe.
This is not an argument from my side. If you like selective color, fine. One should use it for a reason, not coloring objects for no specific reason.
