Did a group of 25+ headshots on Tuesday - here are just a few.
Lighting was: Main is camera right- White Lightning 1600 in a PhotekSoftlighter. Camera right (and behind the subject) accent is an Einstein in a gridded 12x36 Creative Light softbox. Hairlight (camera right accent) is an Einstein with the standard reflector but with a 20 degree honeycomb grid.
In front of the subject and to camera right is a 42" silver reflector and on the table in front of them is a silver/gold reflector.
The lighting here is a bit flatter than most portrait work, but since these go on crappy paper for business cards or brochures, I do not want the shadows to dark or they can go "muddy."
Awesome portraits from one who obviously knows his craft very well!!
Thanks for showing us!!

Thanks Wahawk...and guess what...I used a flash meter to set the main light exposure to f9, then I took a self-picture to verify...set it to f9 and did not touch it all day...and these people who think a meter is of no value....pshaw! :-)
First frame....perfect!

Thanks for posting!
I enjoy viewing what others do and dream about getting these types of shots!
I gotta get the lights out, soon!

I must be stupid. To me, the main lighting seems to be coming from the left as I am looking at the subject. Of course I am no Einstein. I probably can't afford to be one either. I am trying to pay attention. I can't afford to do that either.
Oh my gawd Captain, these are so nice, when I grow up I want to be able to do this kind of stuff, love that you tell how it was all set up.
Beautiful portraits! Hope when I use my meter I get these results! Something tells me there's more to it than that. Some day!
Nice Traditional Executive portraits.
Well Done!
Glad to see you posted.
Still a fool!

You are not stupid - I am. The main light is camera left - just as you observed. Duh.
Very nice work Capt...quick question, how often do you see a one dimpled person?
