My first question is, Is Elements 11 a stand alone program or do you have to have 1 through 10 to get the full effects.
Most of the time I see it listed as Elements 11 Upgrade. Upgrade from what.
Next question is, I have Elements 5 but every time I try to use it I get Error 150-30. I have a PC using Windows 7, will Elements 11 Run on that.TK's REJ

You can purchase Elements for under $50 when it is on sale. Upgrading with Adobe always costs more than just buying the software on sale.

Keep track of Costco and Amaszon. Both have had it for $50 and will again.

Some may be seeing prices for the "Premium" version which also does video. The standard version is all you need for still photos.

I started with Elements 10. There is a magazine on their website and at one time came with a great tutorial DVD. Worth the price for the subscription. I bought Elements 10 at Walmart for about $90 after using the trial for a few weeks. There are some free programs such as Picasa that do a good job for basic cropping, contrast, and brightness adjustments.

It will run fine on your windows 7, I would suggest completely deleting your Elements 5 as it so far back down the line.

I would agree with the "uninstall" on any previous versions. It always seems better to install new rather than upgrade. Just ask anyone going from Windows 7 to Windows 8.

I tired to install 11 with 10 on my computer. Adobe says you can do so and others on UHH says it worked for them. I got an error. I then uninstalled 10 and 11 installed and works fine. I may have done something else along the way that actually solved the problem but since there is no use for 10 when you have 11 it didn't hurt.

Just to note I installed 11 on both my wife and my computers. It seems happy with that.

Each version of Photoshop Elements is an independent one. You just purchase whichever version you want (depending on its availability). Also, you can have multiple versions installed on the same computer.

There is no such a thing as a "full version" and an "upgrade version" of Photoshop Elements. From the technical point of view, there is only one version. The terms "full" and "upgrade" refer to the different prices and how they relate to your status -- no ownership versus previous ownership of this program. If you have a previous version of PSE, you are eligible for the "upgrade" price; if you are a first time user of this program, you will pay "full" price. This is Adobe's way to reward their customers' loyalty.

Yes, you can. You are eligible for an "upgrade" price even if the PSE version you own is version 1. In the link below click on Buy and check the "I own" box. It lists PSE versions going back to version 1.

Sorry, but a little clarification is needed. It is correct that there is no difference between a "full" and "upgrade" version.

However there is a premium version that does video. It is priced higher in whatever category.

If you are talking about Premiere Elements, it is not a premium version of Photoshop Elements. Premiere Elements is a program on its own, devoted to video editing. This program is to videos what Photoshop Elements is to photos. Adobe offers two prices for Premiere Elements -- full (for new users) and upgrade (for previous owners). Also, to those who are into photo editing as well as video editing, Adobe has a special offer -- a combo (Photoshop Elements + Premiere Elements).

Close but I believe premium version does both still and video.
