Watch them tonight. I've got overcast, so I probably won't be seeing them. Tonight and tomorrow A.M.
Looking good here Audwulf, bit chilly but clear skies. Best of luck!
Out here in Arizona, rain clouds are not common. I haven't seen one since last August. But the Gemenids and rain are predicted for tonight. I was supposed to go into the far desert this morning to enjoy the darkness and watch the shower tonight but the predicted clouds put the kibosh on that.
I did go this morning at 4 AM to the walking hill we have west of the city (Tucson) and saw 26 fireballs in about 2 1/2 hours along with 10 peripheral vision "maybes." The city lights here are too bright to see the milky way so I know I missed a lot.
In fact, the road to the top is paved because of the antenna farm and many of us regulars walk it able to see perfectly well with night vision. But there's always somebody carrying a light that would make a locomotive envious. He has a right-to-light and I don't have a right to dark - go figger.
