First work on the overall white balance. I took my cue off of the lights. Then adjust the child's face color. This will mess up the red santa suit, so apply a mask to make the adjustment only on the child's face. Then went in and reduced a little of the redness of santa's face, but not all. Finally, went around to all of the white trim and pulled out the color cast. Hope you like. It's a difficult lighting situation to fix.

Being color blind does not make this easy. I dont think the color is right and need some help to get this shot of my grandson with santa correct. Would like to make a nice print to give to his parents. Thanks for helping.
Have made few adjustments in PSE11 - nor perfect but think the colours look more natural IMHO
If you have photoshop, email me and I may be able to help.

f.y.i. in the future...best solution for multiple light sources is use preset feature in wb and use a grey card or white card... will get best result and save all the work in post
Couldn't help myself! Had to make it right for you and the parents of that lovely child.
Merry Christmas!!
Lots of good advise. Just want to see that is a very sweet photo.

Graham Thirkill thank you but I guess I dont see any red, but then again being color blind it may be there.
hangman45 it seems to be closer to being natural and I thank you for you time and effort. I may make some prints of this one since I havent been able to get anything this good. I tried using PSE9 to auto correct but it didnt seem to work that well.
Thank you both and Happy Holidays!
Graham's version was a sort of sepia tone and has no red, so don't blame your eyes.

Perfect... as I would always expect from you. I like the cropped #2 best.

Thank YOU!! It does look better cropped. I wasn't sure I should crop out the Xmas tree, but it is the child and Santa that are most important!!

The tree would still be implied, even if only a few branches and lights were visible. Sometimes you see models with a lot of their hair cropped out and a few strands showing. That doesn't mean the model is bald except for the few strands. The viewer knows hair is outside the frame, or at least hopes there is!

Nice job Wendy. I also like Grahams B/W attempt. His vignette is a little much but overall with the vignette toned down a bit it would also be very nice.

Why Thank You jeep daddy! It was rewarding to do this for someone! I agree, regarding the sepia tone. Very, very nice, but a little less vignetting would make it perfect.

Thought I would try a different approach based on the simple dictum " If you can't fix it then fake it!! "
