Hi, I own two Canon Rebel cameras ,a TSi and a T2i and I am thinking about upgrading to a "professional" model. I am looking at the D60,I have just started looking but the only difference that I could see from the T2i that I have and the D60 is the articulated viewing screen and a higher price. I would welcome all comments
that you could give on the comparisons that you could give.

Thanks nlvhal

I have the 60D also the 50D and a 5D. The 60D has turned into my favorite camera. The screen can be adjusted so you can shoot very low to putting it on a monopod with a remote shutter release and shooting very high. While using the live view to compose your shot.

I looked at both the 60D and 7D when upgrading from a Rebel. Although the 7D has more professional features and better build qualities, the articulated screen more than trumped the 7D's advantages to me. Without an articulated screen, it is very difficult to use a camera other than at the eye. With the articulated screen, it can easily be used on the ground, waist level, overhead, etc, etc. Once you've used a camera with articulated screen, you probably won't want to go back.

I am going to assume that you do mean the 60D with the articulated screen and not the D60 you mention. I have the 60D and love it for the articulated screen (primarily). I thought seriously about the 7D because of the focus adjust feature, but the articulated screen won me over. The 60D however is not classified as a professional model, by the pros. They see it as an upper class amateur camera because it is a crop sensor camera (as is the 7D) and not full frame. Having shot extensive film in my days, my reply to that statement is 'so what'.... They will tell you that it is in the bokeh and the picture size, and the ....... Again, my reply is 'so what'. I am getting the photos that I want with the crop sensor and I love having the 60D to do it with. With minor adjustment in glass and settings, I can get smooth buttery bokeh and fill my frame too. Further, one thing a crop sensor camera can do that a FF cannot.... we get extra magnification on a telephoto before adding extension tubes....Free.

As stated earlier. I have and LOVE the 60D and the articulated screen, crop sensor and all.

The frame rate of the 60D is higher and is a definite advantage for some subjects. The high ISO is better too. The ergonomics and speed of use are better also.

Do some research on the new T4I. Just got it and it is an awesome camera. Especially with the new auto-focus (continual) in video and with the stm lenses. There are many, many small upgrades that Canon has done that many shoppers overlook. For the $ you cannot beat it. New stereo mike also.

Hello nlvhal

The D60 is a Nikon camera? The 60D is a Canon camera! Both of which are good cameras but being you have Canon gear why would you want to go to Nikons D60? Are did you make a typo on the model numbers. I'm just curious!.
