Help, I am having trouble photographing Christmas lights at night. I use my camera mainly in A. My pictures are usually blurry!

This one was taken on "soft", was playing around. The ornament is green????

First off are you using a tripod? If not and you are using a slower shutter speed you may be moving causing the blurriness of the photos. To me it looks like maybe you have the lens open too much for the shutter speed. Close it down just a little maybe so that less light will come in. Do you know the aperture and shutter speed settings for this photo? That would help out just to let us know what may be going on.

Bryan Peterson's Understanding Exposure might be a great present this year. Until then, try a tripod and set the camera on remote timer. Post your results here!

First, you are way overexposed, you're shooting "lights" after all. This reminds me of people who use a 30 second exposure of the full moon and then ask why there are no details on it.

Take your camera off Auto. You will never get the shot you want otherwise.

You will also need to set your white balance to tungsten.
