Hi, I just received my Christmas Card order from Mpix. ( I will leave out how I paid 7.95 for priority mail and got the order in 7 days) Anyway, I was really expecting something great. The card has 3 photos of my daughter on them and the photos look very pixated. (is that how you spell that)? I thought for the price, (around $1.50 a card) that they would be beautiful. I am very disappointed in the quality. The jpegs that i sent where very high beautiful quality. They do not have a phone number and all corresponding is done via e-mail which is very strange. It may perhaps be the card stock paper they use. But the only choice is that or glossy. I was hoping for something smooth like one of the choices Millers has. Does anyone have any experience with this lab? I think it looks like a zerox copy of my photos. I am hoping they will help make it right but not much time left. thanks for listening to me complain.

Mpix has mixed reviews. BTW it is "pixilated" instead of "pixated"

Thanks. I tried spell check but it could not be found. Perhaps I should have gotten up out of my chair and looked it up? Nah. (well, I could have just googled it would have not even required me to get up) I haven't even finished my coffee! Thanks again.
I ran a comparison between MPIX and Costco on this forum about a year ago, I haven't used MPIX since that time, I wasn't impressed with their quality and their pricing was amongst the highest out there. These days I use Costco or Bay Photo for almost everything.
Thanks, I always use Sams Club and have always been pleased. I should have stuck with them. I just wanted more options for my holiday card. Live and learn is all I can say. Thanks.

I don't mean to be insulting, but have you tried printing the the same size pictures at home? Pixelation often results from the image being too small. Just an idea.
That's not insulting.. Yes, i did. Beautiful and sharp as a tack. (I used my 7D and 24-70L lens) I finally got in touch with them and they said what I am seeing is "grain". They said it was the paper. They are going to reprint on smooth paper. I am impressed that they are going to do that for me, they are even shipping to me overnight. However, that is one strange company, customer service only via e-mail? It is very odd to me. I am not sure I will use them again. I hope the new ones look better. I should have stuck with Sam's Club. I am always impressed with the quality of the prints for the cheap money. Thanks

It's good they isolated the problem and are willing to correct it so quickly. I prefer email customer support. I just send the email and wait for a reply. The alternative is to listen to a whole phone tree and then get put on hold listening to horrible music. When a human actually answers, I can't understand what he's saying, and he can't solve my problem.
I had a couple of pictures taken from the stands at a KSU football game that I wanted to print for my wife. I wanted to do a canvas print because I like that look and it allowed a distracting element in one of the pictures to be minimized by placing it on the wrapped side (it couldn't really be cropped out without making it look weird).
I first submitted an order to Walmart and then decided to go to MPIX for comparison. The MPIX prints were very fast (received in three days) and looked great. They were also very pricey.
I haven't receive the Walmart ones, but am not overly optimistic.
I'll probably try other labs because of cost, but I would not have issues going back to MPIX.
AMEN Jerry! I'll take email service any time! Mainly because I don't speak Indian, Pakistani or any of several other languages. Just old fashioned English, thank you!

Red River Paper sells card stock with foldability That you can print yourself, and their paper is good.

I have nothing to contribute to your poor card quality but whenever I'm stumped on spelling I open a new tab then type my best effort into the Google toolbar. Google always shows corrected spelling.
Unnecessary comment Larrie. I l already addressed that issue, and I certainly don't need you to point it out again. Seems like you miss what is really important in life. Perhaps you should try to find it.
