Monitor Calibration again

I have Win 7, but kept my old Monitor. My pictures do not print with the same color as on the Monitor. So I got a new Spyder that is compatable with Win 7 but still do not get good prints. Do I need to get a new Monitor. When I went looking for a new one, they all said that they were compatable with Win 7, and my present one is not. I have a HP printer. My dtr. called last night and has Win 7 and Lexmark printer and she is having the same problem. Her prints have a pink cast to them and mine are just darker.

Monitor calibration is just what it says.
Your printer will need to be profiled and or calibrated.

Read the old posts on this subject... lots of info... simply stated, it does not mater that your monitor is calibrated to some golden standard.... tweak til the photo of a color paint card, free from paint store, looks the same as your monitor and your print out.

Monitors have adjustments, printers (like epson control program) have color sliders get a reasonable match.

Remember Monitor is radiated light, back lit, where as the print is reflected and absorbed and all are affected by the room light. You will never be correct so return the spider and buy wine and relax with compromise.
