I now suspect this to be a Funnel Weaver Spider aka Grass spider (Hololena santana).

Wiki says these spiders aren't particularly toxic. That's nice to know.

Thank you very much. The depictions do look like my spider, except that the legs are not pronouncedly banded, like mine is. And wikipedia says, they have "somewhat indistinct bands on their legs."

1.) Wikipedia is a general information website, not known for in-depth info.
2.) Banding coloration can be influenced by spider gender, age, and time of year.
